Behind the Scenes: James Robinson
Tell us a little bit about yourself. Where did you grow up? Whereabouts do you live now?
I grew up near Newbury, Berkshire and now live in bustling Battersea.
How long have you been an estate agent for?
I’ve been a negotiator for five months now.
How long have you worked for D&G? What’s the greatest thing about working for them?
I have been with Douglas & Gordon the whole time I’ve been an agent. The friendly people and interesting clients are the best part of working here.
What’s the funniest story you have from your time at Douglas & Gordon?
I don’t think I have been with D&G long enough yet to start naming and shaming just yet.
When you’re not in the office or showing people around, what do you do in your spare time?
I love any water sport, but sailing would be the preferred choice for me.
What questions do you most commonly get asked by clients/customers?
‘What’s the square footage?’
What advice do you have for people looking to buy or rent around Kensington Gate?
Don’t wait, if you find a flat or house you really like, go for it and put an offer down. They generally don’t hang around for long.
If you could wave a magic wand and change one thing about the property market, what would it be?
I would change Stamp Duty.
